Our adult curriculum offers training in Krav Maga. At The Official Krav Maga Training Center of Connecticut, our goal is to teach students fighting skills so that they may be physically and mentally capable of defending themselves in any given dangerous scenario.   

 BASIC TRAINING is an introductory program that teaches the basics of Krav Maga. A brief overview of our basic training curriculum follows:

  • Stances
  • Movements
  • 360-defense blocks
  • Elbows
  • Knees
  • Hand techniques (palm strikes, hammer fists, punches)
  • Kicks (groin, front, side, round, and back).

 The basics of self-defense are also covered. Examples of various scenarios follow:

  • How to escape from and defend against someone grabbing your wrist.
  • How to escape from and defend against front, side, and back chokes.
  • How to defend against someone grabbing you in a bear hug.
  • How to defend yourself after falling to the ground using strikes and kicks and how to get back to your feet.

BLACK BELT TRAINING/BBT is an advanced level program that expands on the basics of Krav Maga. Below is a short list of advanced tactics:

  • Weapons defense, including knife, gun, and stick/pipe
  • Third-party hostage scenarios
  • Carjacking and home invasion scenarios
  • Advanced stand-up and ground fighting techniques

Drills not only teach the physical movements but also prepare you to manage the mental stress experienced during an altercation. Upon the instructor’s evaluation, students may upgrade from the Basic Training Course.

PREMIER FIGHT TEAM TRAINING is an upgrade from BBT and is an invitation-only program for students who are interested in training like a UFC fighter. This program teaches advanced stand-up and ground fighting techniques in kickboxing and jiu jitsu. It offers the high level of conditioning experienced by UFC fighters. Students will have the opportunity to train with our nationally recognized fight team members. 

INSTRUCTOR TRAINING is an upgrade from Fight Team Training and is an invitation-only program for students who wish to become an assistant instructor.

KRAV FITNESS is a ladies ONLY self-defense–based fitness class. This program teaches basic self-defense techniques while keeping the heart rate in its fat burning zone. Weight loss, increased muscle strength, and toning are all achieved through punching, kicking, pad drills, and core strength work.
